WHITE FLYER® NEWS
For those of you planning on attending
the annual S.H.O.T. Show, February 2-5, 2002 at the Las Vegas Convention Center
in Las Vegas, NV plan on stopping by the White Flyer Booth (#469) and say hello.
We’ll have a display of all the targets including some new
biodegradable ones that will really interest sporting clays shooters.
If you need information about the 2002
S.H.O.T. Show, call the NSSF at 203-840-5600 or visit their website at
www.shotshow.org.
As a result of the Scholastic Trap
Programs success in 2001, both skeet and sporting have been added for 2002.
Administered in trap by the NSSF and ATA, the skeet/sporting will be
administered by the NSSF/NSSA/NSCA.
Under this program approved schools and
organizations will be provided with shot shells and targets to get the program
started at no cost. The intent here
is to get young people involved in the shooting sports and find the recreational
lifetime values they provide.
Throughout the year, participating teams
can shoot registered targets in each of the disciplines and their seasons will
culminate in a National Championship event.
In 2001, the trap shooters in this program competed at the prestigious
Grand American in Vandalia, Ohio before over 4,000 competitors.
Details on the 2002 championships for
each of the disciplines is forthcoming and we’ll let you know the dates when
they become available. In the
meantime, should your school or organization wish to participate check out the
NSSF website, or give us a call here at White Flyer – 800-322-7855.
As a reminder, White Flyer now offers
both the Standard Bio and Bio Sporter biodegradable targets.
The main difference between the Standard and the Sporter Bio is that the
Sporter is primarily for use in sporting clays.
It weighs a few more grams than the Standard Bio and is built stronger,
to be thrown faster.
Although some confusion exists, the
paint schemes available for both the Standard and Sporting Bios are as follows:
Standard Trap &
all orange top / black bottom
Skeet Bio -
orange dome / black bottom
all white top / white
bottom
Bio Sporter -
all orange top / orange bottom
orange dome / black bottom
all black top / black
bottom
all white top / white bottom
Beginning in the Spring of 2002, the new
White Flyer Biodegradable Midi target (90mm) will be available nationwide
through your White Flyer distributor. Available in boxes of 144 targets, this bio Midi will be
available in two variations: (1)
All orange top/All orange bottom and (2) all black top/all black bottom.
The manufacture of the Midi signals a
start of a full line of biodegradable shooting specialty targets.
Keep your eyes and ears open throughout 2002 for introductions of the
other biodegradables.

Our thanks to the countless number of
people that volunteer their time and money to “run” shoots throughout the
country. These are the folks that
plan and conduct the shoots; the signup and scoreboard personnel; the food
staff; the pullers, loaders, and referees and whoever else I may have left out.
These are the people behind the scenes at the gun club (the manager and
his or her staff) that make the shoots so much fun to shoot and attend.
Too often, we shooters tend to forget about the fine jobs done by these
folks. Without them, our shoots
would be nothing. We salute you
folks for a job well done!
As we near the beginning of the new
shooting year, we at White Flyer begin to budget for 2002 shoot advertising.
As has been the case in previous years, White Flyer will once again
purchase advertising space in gun club shoot programs that feature the use of
White Flyer targets in those events.
Should your gun club or shoot wish to solicit a shoot program ad for the 2002 season, we’d recommend that you send us a written request and the options available. Once we receive this information we will forward it to headquarters.
